The Precept is that element of your Council Tax that is paid to Stoney Stanton Parish Council.

Every year, the Parish Council draws up budgets and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. These are usually finalised at the January Full Council meeting and then submitted to Blaby District Council (BDC). BDC co-ordinates the other demands from Leicestershire County Council, the Police and themselves and come up with the rate to be paid from 1st April of that year.

    Section 137 spending limit for 2019/20

    Published 20th December 2018

    The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has advised that the appropriate sum for the purpose of section 137(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 for parish and town councils in England for 2018-19 is £8.12.

    This is the amount that results from increasing the amount of 2017-18 (£7.86) by the percentage increase in the retail index between September 2017 and September 2018, in accordance with Schedule 12B to the 1972 Act.

Grants Awarded 2018/2019

2019 - The Parish Council are pleased to award a grant of £150 to Sakura Judo Club to help train their volunteers.

2019 - The Parish Council are pleased to award a grant of £900 to 1st Stoney Stanton Scouts for camping equipment.

2018 - The Parish Council are pleased to have awarded a grant of £500 to Stanton allstars for assistance with kit.

2018- The Parish Council have awarded the Community Library a grant of £475 to purchase additional seating.

2018- The Parish Council were happy to help the Evergreens group with a grant of £200 towards a day trip.

2017- The Parish Council have awarded £500 to the youth club towards equipment and a climbing wall event.

2017- The Parish Council have contributed £799 towards a defibrillator to be situated at the playing fields.

2017 -The Parish Council have contributed £500 towards to 40 new sets of plates, bowls, cups etc for Scout camps.
