The Precept is that element of your Council Tax that is paid to Stoney Stanton Parish Council.

Every year, the Parish Council draws up budgets and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. These are usually finalised at the January Full Council meeting and then submitted to Blaby District Council (BDC). BDC co-ordinates the other demands from Leicestershire County Council, the Police and themselves and come up with the rate to be paid from 1st April of that year.

    Due to the changes in the tax base rate there is a 10% increase shown on the figures which will show as an annual increase of £7.72 for a Band D household taking the annual cost of the parish from £76.82 to £84.53 per year

Financial Regulations

Section 137 Expenditure: Limit for 2021-2022

The appropriate sum for the purpose of section 137(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 (the 1972 Act) for parish and town councils in England for 2021-22 is £8.41.

Grants Awarded

2021 - The Stoney Stanton Action Group received £788 towards advice and activities against the rail freight and housing developments.

2021 - The Monday Club received £350 towards an annual social event including a meal at Ullesthorpe court.

2021 - The Stoney Stanton Litter Pickers were awarded £490.92 for a trolley and litter picking aids

2021 - The Stoney Stanton Yarn Bomb Group were awarded £150 for display equipment, wool and materials.

2019 - The Parish Council is pleased to award a grant of £315 to assist the running of the Good Neighbour Scheme.

2019 - The Parish Council is pleased to award a grant of £400 to SS Tennis Club towards a new toilet.

2019 - The Parish Council are pleased to award a grant of £150 to Sakura Judo Club to help train their volunteers.
