Good Neighbour Scheme
A Good Neighbour Scheme is a community-led project that links neighbours who require a particular task doing for them with local volunteers willing to help. Not only is it a great way of meeting new people in your community, but also helps everyone to feel more connected with their neighbours.
How Does it Work?
People contact the scheme and requests are co-ordinated by a group of volunteers. Types of support can include befriending, transport, IT and everyday tasks such as changing a lightbulb, picking up a prescription etc.
Interested in volunteering? Then please come along to a drop in session at Stoney Stanton Community Library on Wednesday 16th May between 6pm – 8pm to learn more over a cup of tea or coffee.
We have a committee with volunteers signed up, but more volunteers are needed and we can then launch this service to those in the village that need help. We look forward to seeing you!
